As far back as he can remember, George has spent his life in and around the water. Be it attending his local rec center or visiting his family in Florida and Puerto Rico, he has always been comfortable in any aquatic setting. Born and raised in New York, he was a regular at The Boys Club since the age of five.  As a teen, it was a near drowning experience that he witnessed first-hand which motivated him to become a lifeguard and swim instructor, to help instill safety in others around the water. George has worked as a lifeguard and swim teacher for many years, including during his time at Brooklyn College, where he received his Bachelors in Psychology.
