Gabriela has 16 years of swimming experience. She learned to swim at the age of four, along with her three siblings. The following year, at just five-years-old, she started to compete for LaGuardia Aquatic Club, a team she continued to represent until she was 18. Gabriela also swam for her high school team at Stuyvesant, specializing in the 100 fly and 100 free. In both events, she was able to qualify for Senior Mets - the top competition in Metro Swimming's LSC. She currently swims for Queens College, where she has been a member of four school record-setting relays. Gabriela was introduced to the Imagine Swimming family through her former teammate Jessica Lou.
