Emily grew up in a small town in upstate New York. Though she’s been around water her entire life, she was not introduced to competitive swimming until high school, when she followed her older sister to a neighboring town’s YMCA team. The Y pool soon became a second home, as Emily transitioned from competition to teaching, swimming and working there for six years, until she headed south down the New York State Thruway to the city to attend the Fashion Institute of Technology. Emily is currently a senior studying Fashion Merchandising at FIT. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family, rock climbing, and boating.
