David discovered his love of swimming at the relatively advanced age of 16. Always afraid of the water, it wasn't until he tried a high school swimming class that he realized how transformative it can be to feel comfortable in the water. Not long after those first classes, David joining his school’s swim team and competed until he graduated. Currently, David is a student at John Jay with a major in Police Studies. He has been teaching swimming and water safety for over five years. Away from the water, he enjoys writing and reading books, and loves rollerblading through the city, exploring all that New York has to offer.
