Anduar was born in the Dominican Republic, where, as a child, his father took him to rivers every weekend. While he loved being around the water, his family was unable to afford swimming lessons and it was not until he moved to New York as a teenager that he had the opportunity to learn to swim. At George Washington High School, he soon joined the swim team, where he determined that he wanted to teach this life skill, as well, so he became certified as a Lifeguard and as a Water Safety Instructor. Anduar is currently studying Early Childhood Education, with his sights set on becoming a teacher. When he's not in the water, he can be found drawing, riding his bike, or studying.
